Wild Cherry - Play That Funky Music

Wild Cherry hit it big with their 1976 hit single, Play That Funky Music. It was on their self-titled debut album. The song was inspired by a black audience member who shouted, "Play some funky music, white boy" while they were playing live. Lead singer Robert Parissi decided they would, and he wrote down the phrase on a piece of paper at the bar. Enjoy!
